Our Services



Inventory Control

  • We use a specialized software for our inventory "PeCrio InventoryX", that automatically alerts us when items are running lower than a specified/required amount with lots of other functionalities to properly manage items for smooth operation

Full service housekeeping / janitorial operations

  • Staterooms, Galley and Dining Areas
  • Bathrooms, Offices, Recreation and Common Areas
  • Supplies are provided to support these services.

Catering

  • Food is prepared and served under stringent hygiene conditions as domiciled in our Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point Manual, facilitated by our state-of-the-art equipment and facilities which includes freezers, chillers, and dry storage containers.

Sundry Stores

  • Toiletry and tobacco type items are made available for purchase to the ship crew

Laundry Services

  • Employee clothes are laundered each day
  • Bed and Bath linens are laundered each day

Shore based support

  • Purchase, transport and warehousing of all supplies
  • Personnel support services
  • Health, Safety, and Environment support services


Our Policies



SCOPE: This policy covers staff directly involved in catering operations and housekeeping operations.
PURPOSE: To ensure that all staff involved in catering and housekeeping operations are in clean, correct and appropriate uniforms during the conduct of their duties.
UNIFORMS AND PPE: These are issued after a Job Safety Analysis is undertaken for each particular task. Each line manager/supervisor shall ensure that all staff has appropriate PPE every time for the task to be undertaken. Staff shall ensure correct and consistent use of PPE. Uniforms shall be issued every six months to employees. Employees shall ensure correct use of uniforms to ensure reasonable wear and tear.
IMPLEMENTATION: Management shall apply the necessary sanctions for the abuse or inappropriate use of uniforms/PPEs provided. The implementation of this policy is a direct responsibility of line management (camp boss/supervisor).

To achieve this, UNIQUE RELIANCE CONCEPT

  1. Gives first consideration to purchase and use of goods manufactured in Nigeria and services provided from within Nigeria.
  2. Employ competent Nigerians for roles within the company and company executed projects.
  3. Train Nigerians to perform and takeover, within the shortest possible time, any role being handled by expatriates.
  4. Develop the quality of goods and services from Nigerian suppliers and service providers to meet international standards through collaboration in Research and Development, training and provision of necessary assistance.
  5. Monitor and measure compliance to ensure that the objectives of the Nigerian Content Development Act are fully implemented in every area of our operations.

This policy is to provide a safe place of work for all its employees, clients, contractors and visitors by taking such reasonable steps as are necessary to eliminate hazards to health and potential causes of accidents.

A policy of participation will be pursued on matters related to health, safety and environmental conservation. The aim being to create a continuously improving awareness of the obligation which all company employees have in achieving a reduction in the incidence of accidents and potential hazards to health.

To this end, the management will:

  1. Provide and maintain a safe and healthy working environment, for its staff and other persons whom its activities affect.
  2. Provide adequate information, instruction, training and supervision to enable employees to perform their work safely and efficiently.
  3. Provide safety devices and protective equipment, clothing and ensure that they are used properly.
  4. Provide a system of joint consultation to promote safe working practices and safe system of work.
  5. Promote a continuing interest in health, safety and environmental matters applicable to the company’s activities and operations.
  6. Ensure the protection and safe operation of all premises, vehicles and equipment.

It is the objective of UNIQUE RELIANCE CONCEPT LIMITED to ensure that the food provided in all its controlled catering facilities is both safe and wholesome.
URC seeks to pursue this through several key objectives:

  1. Identifying and evaluating food safety risks using HACCP principles.
  2. Minimising food safety hazards and effectively controlling the risks.
  3. Setting standards, monitoring and auditing compliance with standards and where appropriate measuring and appraising performance.
  4. Taking effective action when there is non-compliance.
  5. Ensuring that responsibilities and accountabilities are clearly defined and effectively communicated to relevant staff.
URC shall take all reasonable precautions and exercise all due diligence to ensure that all its catering activities comply with all food safety legislations.

SCOPE: : This covers company personnel, installations and facilities.
PURPOSE: Each facility of URC shall have a written procedure to effectively respond to emergencies
FIRE ACTION: Each facility/installation shall be equipped with fire extinguishers. Any person discovering a fire outbreak should:
Sound the alarm (Fire, Fire, Fire...)
Attack the fire if possible using the fire extinguisher provided
Leave the facilities by exit route
Stop all machines
Report to muster point
Check if all personnel are accounted for
Do not take risk
Do not return to work site for any reason until authorized and safe to do so.
FIRST AID ACTION: In the event of an accident or illness;
Call the safety/ First Aider
Visit the nearest First Aid Box in the facility, for first aid treatment
Shall be immediately transported to our company’s clinic where the first aid treatment proves inadequate.
HSE CONTIGENCIES: In event of any HSE emergency:
All work activities shall be STOPPED
HSE Official shall immediately look into the prevailing situation
Do not resume work activities for any reason until clearance is issued by Contingency co-ordinator.

UNIQUE RELIANCE CONCEPT LIMITED is strongly committed to ensure a safe working place for its employees and for all persons visiting or working in all its work locations.

This policy is developed to prohibit alcohol and substance abuse shall be implemented in all work locations controlled by UNIQUE RELIANCE CONCEPT LIMITED as well as for those activities carried out by contracted parties under an agreement with URC on 24-hour basis.

The transportation, use, possession, promotion or sale of prohibited substances in URC’s work locations is strictly forbidden.

Any employee and contractor personnel who are suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs shall be immediately suspended from the job and subjected to medical test in order to identify the nature of intoxication.

Any breach of this policy shall be subjected to disciplinary actions, which could result in dismissal as provided for under the company’s rules and regulations.

There shall be sporadic screening conducted on employees to ensure compliance.

SCOPE: This policy covers all locations where URC conducts business.

PURPOSE: To develop and maintain a friendly and mutually beneficial relationship with the host community leaders, youths and other prime actors in the communities.

OBJECTIVES:

  1. Establishing and maintaining effective communication channels with host communities.
  2. Identification and implementation of fair procedures for hiring of local personnel and award of contracts in order to give economic empowerment to a number of people effectively residing in the host communities.
  3. Establishing a rapid response approach to complaints of the communities.
  4. Implementation of behavior code for company employees regarding community relations and ensuring the observance thereof.
  5. Prohibition of employees interference in local affairs as well as behavior regarded by communities as being inconsistent or offensive to local traditions, customs or religious practices and the continual monitoring of the situation so as to avert negative development.
  6. Participation in some social activities of the communities to promote social integration
  7. Assisting the communities in the development of identified socially beneficial projects within the limits of the company’s activities /resources.
  8. Assisting the communities in harnessing and developing available local manpower.
